Swimming Pools Maintenance Program
Wakefield Regional Council is landholder of three public swimming pools located in Balaklava, Owen, and Hamley Bridge. These pools are leased under a contract agreement to volunteer committees, who are responsible for administration, financial management and leadership of the swimming pool facility.
To financially support the Committee in the provision of this facility to the community, Council currently provides the following financial contribution on an annual basis:
-
Public liability insurance
-
Building insurance
-
Payment of pool chemicals
-
Swimming Pool Maintenance Program (capital maintenance grants)
-
Reduction in Council rates
The Swimming Pool Maintenance Program budget allocation for 2009/10 was $34,542 for pool maintenance and $19,767 for pool chemicals. The total commitment to pools maintenance for 2009/10 was therefore $54,309. This was lower than the previous year because there was no "carry forward" figure from previous years.
