Mayor Reid said, “Our grants program can really help community organisations who may need a little assistance to deliver their programs and services to the broader community. I encourage all community organisations within the Wakefield Regional Council area to consider applying for a grant to assist their valuable work within our community.”
The program offers substantial benefits within our region. As a result of the last round of grants, the Owen Community Shed was formerly established. Brian Parker, member of the Owen Community Shed, stated, “The grant meant the difference between a hugely beneficial project commencing in the town and not commencing at all. The project has been highly successful and has given people in the community the chance to come together and give people confidence.”
